Alhamdulillah, last week on 5th July I got opportunities to help Wiwid Howat (an Indonesian designer who live in Sydney, Australia) at Jogja Fashion Week 2013.
Last year at Jogja Fashion Week 2012, I have watched hijab fashion show in front row so I could capture some photos on stage. But at this Jogja Fashion Week, my friend (Echa) asked me to help kak Wiwid Howat in her fashion show as a hijab stylist at backstage. It's a new experience for me to help a designer as a hijab stylist, because usually I only see a fashion show on stage without knowing about situation at the backstage. So, I'm so excited and little bit nervous for this.
I helped kak Wiwid with Echa and Risti at the backstage. We helped her to fit the outfit for the models, steam some dresses, and also style for the hijabs. After finished at the backstage, I watched the fashion show on the guest seat. I'm so nervous at that time when it was kak Wiwid's turn. But Alhamdulillah, everything was gonna be okay. Yeay! :)
congratulation kak Wiwid for your fashion show ♥
thanks for letting me help you, such a great experience!

How are you nowadays? Hope your day always good and full of barokah, aamiin..
In this post, I wanna share about my very very brief trip around Malioboro (one of tourism area in Yogyakarta). I did this trip alone on last Saturday. Yup, alone. Hehehe... I often do a spontaneous brief trip when I'm getting bored & need to fresh up my mind. And one of my favorite place to go is Malioboro, even I do it just for strolling around.
So, here we go.. enjoy~
1st destination: Pasar Beringharjo
Purpose: buy some Batik clothes or fabrics
Pasar Beringharjo is a traditional market located on Jl. Jend. A. Yani (this area also called as Malioboro), Yogyakarta. In this market, you can find many merchandise from Yogyakarta, especially for Batik products like clothes or fabrics.
it's a little bit crowded inside here, because it was holiday season..
can't stop looking at these beautiful Batik fabrics~
bought two Batik fabrics for my skirts
2nd destination: Strolling Around Pasar Beringharjo
Purpose: eat "Sego Pecel" and watch "Nembang Jawa"
"Sego Pecel" in Javanese means rice dish served with pecel (cooked vegetables with peanut sauce). The cooked vegetables are usually water spinach, spinach, long beans, cassava leaves, and also papaya leaves. You can found some sellers of this food in front of Pasar Beringharjo.
"Nembang" in Javanese means singing. "Nembang Jawa" is Javanese vocal art, which sing in Javanese language. I found a man did this when I went to Mirota Batik in Malioboro. That man was singing by playing "siter". So beautiful, so cultured..
3rd destination: Museum Benteng Vredeburg
Purpose: take some pictures & learn about history
Museum Benteng Vredeburg (Vredeburg Fortress Museum) is one of museum in Yogyakarta. Located on Malioboro area, in front of Gedung Agung (one of Indonesian presidential palaces). Beside the fortress, in this museum also have some dioramas. The dioramas show all incidents that took place in Yogyakarta & the surrounding region during the period 1830-1949.
the museum entrance | the admission price is only 2000 rupiahs (it's cheap for a museum ticket).
ing ngarsa sung tuladha (in front of, become an example)
ing madya mangun karsa (in the middle, giving spirit)
tut wuri handayani (giving impetus behind)
the dioramas room
the replica of gunny clothes & illustration of forced labor when the Japanese colonial period
4th destination: Shoe stalls on Jl. Mataram
Purpose: buy some shoes/sandals
The last destination of the day was shoe stalls! I went there because I need to buy shoes for my clerkship. There are some shoe stalls in this place, which display a lot of shoes & sandals both for men & women. The price in here is affordable, especially for students like me, hehe..
take self pic~
